TOM WOODWARD
With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, Tom joined Hodges Ward Elliott at the end of 2005 coming from the Intercontinental Hotels Group ( IHG) Americas offices also located in Atlanta.
While with IHG he managed and directed in a number of different capacities included accounting, financial, and operations analysis for company owned and managed hotels. Leading the development of PC based software tools for an Inn Level Planning and Budgeting System at the property level. Serving as the owner’s representative for development of the first Staybridge Suites hotel and part of the company development team for 19 ground-up company owned and managed hotels, negotiating a tri-party franchisor backed mezzanine financing program with a major institutional lender for qualified franchisees, directed the revisions of several Staybridge Suites prototype design and FFE packages to assist franchisees and directed the development of the Hotel Indigo brand in 2003-2004 and the first two hotels to open as Hotel Indigo.
Prior to hospitality, as a former CPA and Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Tom worked in the management consulting services with now Ernst and Young in Memphis including feasibility studies for not-for-profit hospital bond financing and in hospital administration and management with Humana in acute care hospitals located in Memphis, Augusta and Chattanooga.
Tom is a 1978 graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa and a 1984 MBA graduate from the University of Memphis.
