JACK WARD

Jack is a founding partner of Hodges Ward Elliott. Prior to 1975, his career was diverse, hardly predictive of his participation in the development of one of the nations most successful hotel real estate and investment banking firms.

In his early career commitment, Jack earned two post graduate theological degrees and served ten years in two churches as a Presbyterian minister. A 1971 MBA from Drexel University indirectly placed him in an Atlanta-based publicly-held real estate development firm. When it began developing and operating hotels, Jack was named president of the subsidiary, Unicity Midwest. After the successful launch of two Indiana hotels in mid-1973, the international oil crisis in November led to the company's liquidation in 1974.

Jack and Bill Hodges formed what is now Hodges Ward Elliott in 1975. They focused on hotel sales and simultaneously operated a hotel management company, Diversified Innkeepers. Under the Diversified name, Jack and Bill, together with two other partners, owned and operated a total of 28 motels and hotels before stepping aside from management in 1991 to focus entirely on hotel sales and financing.

Jack has held offices in national hospitality associations, has served on hospitality forum panels and is a respected consultant to the industry.

Jack has four mature children, in varied and successful careers. He has five grandchildren and his wife of 50 years, Mary. Jack is into physical fitness, is in to many charitable causes, reads a lot, loves to travel, but cherishes his time at home. He remains a committed churchman with deep concern and respect for his co-workers, their families and the translation of faith to every day life.
