TIM SOUTHARD, CFA
Tim Southard joined Hodges Ward Elliott as an Associate in June of 1998, and was promoted to Vice President in 2000. Since 2003, Tim has teamed with Bob Webster in the sale and financing of over $2 billion of hotel real estate, including such notable transactions as the $250 million recapitalization nine hotels in New England, the $125 million sale of the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, the $93 million sale of the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, the $108 million recapitalization of the Nickelodeon Family Suites Resort, the $93 million sale of the Le Meridien Hotel in New Orleans, the $68 million sale of the Residence Inn Cambridge, and the March 2005 sale of the Hamilton Park and Tarrytown House conference centers. Prior to joining HWE, he was based in Atlanta as a pension fund consultant for LCG Associates, one of the nation’s largest independent investment consulting firms. Before being hired by LCG, Tim was the senior portfolio manager for ADAM Investment Company, an Atlanta-based money management firm with over $1 billion in assets. As a Credit Analyst with the Prudential Capital Group, he was involved in corporate financings totaling $260 million. Tim began his investment career with the Prudential Insurance Company of America as a Real Estate Analyst in the commercial mortgage group, where he worked with major commercial properties, including regional malls, retail centers, office and industrial buildings, apartments and hotels. Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. |
