JOHN L. SONNIER
With previous executive level positions at Interstate Hotels, Red Lion Hotels, Kenneth Leventhol & Company, and Prism Hotel Company, John has almost thirty years of experience in the hospitality industry. His past positions have included development and acquisitions, business development, operations and consulting. John has acquired more than $300 million of hotel assets and developed over $100 million of new construction projects. Throughout his career, he has been involved with virtually every type of hospitality project including resorts, conference centers, convention centers, full service hotels, niche products, and food and beverage establishments. John’s resort experience is extensive and incorporated time share, whole ownership condominiums and hotels and his market experience includes all of the continental United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, Canada and Hawaii.
John brings a unique perspective to real estate brokerage and investment banking with his extensive background in development and intricate acquisitions; he has an intimate knowledge of the factors driving a buyer’s purchase decision.
A Senior Vice President with Hodges Ward Elliott since 1999 and integral member of Mark Elliott’s team, John has worked closely with Mark on some of HWE’s largest assignments and is often the lead manager. Recent transactions where John has been the lead manager include the following:
