DANA MICHAEL CIRALDO


 

Dana’s 25-year track record includes transaction, management, principal or counseling involvement with over 1,125 hotels in 54 states and countries, valued over US $14.5 billion dollars. Since 1996 Dana has sold or financed 155 hotels with over 38,000 rooms, totaling $6 billion. Dana specializes in complex value-added transactions as evidenced by a 10-year average trailing cap rate of roughly 6.5% for 155 hotels. Dana was awarded the Superstar Investment Sales Broker of the year award by Real Estate Forum.


Dana has co-authored the 600–page Hotel Investments Handbook, published by West Publishing. As a recognized leader in hotel real estate, Mr. Ciraldo is a frequent speaker at universities and national conferences, such as the ALIS and NYU Hospitality Investment Conferences, and has published or been featured in over 35 magazines and newspapers such as the American Hotel Motel Association Update, Appraiser News, Business Travel News, Capital Sources for Real Estate, Commercial Property News, Cornell Society of Hotelmen Bulletin, El Financiero, Crains, Hotel Business, Hotel and Motel Management, Hotel Valuation Journal, Hotel Valuation Index, Land Use Digest, Lodging Magazine, Mergers & Corporate Policy, The Mortgage and Real Estate Executives Report, National Real Estate Investor, Real Estate Finance Journal, Real Estate Forum, Real Estate Review, Real Estate Workouts & Asset Management, Washington Post, and Who’s Who in the Lodging Industry.

Prior to joining HWE, Dana was Executive Vice President at Hospitality Valuation Services (HVS) and President and Managing Director of HVS Financial Services.  Previously Dana was President of McKinley Management Group and has also held a variety of hospitality industry property management positions, including General Manager.  Dana is a former MAI, CRE and CHA and holds a B.S. degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, ‘81.  Dana provides creative asset, loan and portfolio brokerage, debt and equity capital access and placement and other investment banking services.
