Patrick A. Corso

Pat Corso is a Vice President with HWE since 2005. He is also Managing Partner of National Resort & Club Management.

Previously, he was President of Pinehurst, Inc., from 1987 through January of 2004. During his tenure, he oversaw the restoration of Pinehurst and its return to prominence as one of the premier golf resort destinations in the world. The resort hosted several major national golf championships, including the 1999 and the 2005 US Opens. Mr. Corso was General Chairman of the 1999 US Open Championship.

In the last 10 years of his tenure with ClubCorp (the owner of Pinehurst), Mr. Corso served as Executive Vice President of Resort Operations and later President of The Pinehurst Company. The collection of resorts in addition to Pinehurst included The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA; Barton Creek Resort in Austin, TX; Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH; Daufuskie Island Resort and Club on Hilton Head, SC; and the Palmilla Resort and Golf Club in Los Cabos, Mexico.

Mr. Corso served as Chairman of the North Carolina State Travel and Tourism Board and as a Southeast Regional Trustee for the Boys & Girls Club of America. He is past Chairman of the Resort Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and served on the boards of both the North Carolina and New Hampshire (BIA) State Chambers of Commerce as well as New Hampshire Public Television. He was also a commissioner of the State of New Hampshire Land Use Commission.

In 2003 Mr. Corso was named one of 50 North Carolina Tourism Leaders of the 20th Century by Appalachian State University. He is a member of the Pinehurst Country Club and The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, Scotland. Mr. Corso is a graduate of Ball State University with a BS degree in Communication. He and his wife Judy have three grown children and reside in Pinehurst, NC.
