Mark Elliott
Since joining Hodges Ward Elliott (“HWE”) in 1983 and becoming a partner in the firm, Mark has distinguished himself during the years as the top hotel broker in the country. Mark has personally sold more hotels than any other individual in the United States. Since 1992, he has personally sold and/or financed 802 hotels, totaling approximately 173,000 rooms, with a dollar volume of approximately $22 billion. HWE executed a transaction volume of $6 billion in 2006 and $5.6 billion in 2007. Additionally, Mark has structured several corporate financings and large portfolio M&A transactions in the past five years.
Mark is currently a member of Industry Real Estate Finance Advisory Council (“IREFAC”).
Mark has been an annual speaker at several conferences including the National Hotel Investment Conference in New York and ALIS in Los Angeles, where, in January 2006, Mark was named the recipient of the prestigious “Jack A. Shaffer Financial Advisor of the Year” Award based upon the vote of hotel industry participants. Mark has also been a speaker at the Harvard Business School. He has written articles for Real Estate Finance Journal and a chapter in the Hotel Investment Handbook, as well as being quoted in the Wall Street Journal as a lodging industry expert.
